The billionaire in question is the clothing as well as restaurant owner Richard Caring, who, at the age of 74 has a net worth of more than PS1 billion ($1.17 billion at the present change rate). Caring is currently building his dream home which is which is a PS40 million ($47 million) mansion which will replace the home which he purchased from German millionaire Gert-Rudolff Flick in central London and later took down.
The mansion will include two-level basements that incorporate a garage, wellness space with a spa and indoor pool that can be transformed into an area for ballrooms, storage for clothing during the summer as well as a beauty salon. The property will also feature an enviable garden with numerous mature trees that provide the purest air, privacy and the most beautiful views that can be enjoyed for long walks.
The trees are being transported fully grown and being placed in the garden now. To transport the trees to the garden, Caring had a huge crane set up on Onslow Square, which brings them across the houses of neighbors and then onto his property. To allow this to take place, he demanded and was granted a two-week road closing from the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
Caring’s neighbors aren’t happy, claiming that this isn’t the only time this has happened however, it’s the largest disruption that has occurred to date, and it shows that the city council will be a slave to the dictates of billionaire. The issue is that the exact space that’s been shut down is the an important route for several ambulances and bus routes, The Guardian reports. Onslow Square links South Kensington to Fulham Road, so buses 14 49, 345 and 414 that normally pass through it are now diverted. Similar to ambulances going towards Royal Marsden and Chelsea and Westminster hospitals.
