Ford has unveiled an overhaul for the Sync 4A infotainment system in their Mustang Mach-E that makes adjusting climate functions while driving easier and more secure. Update 4.1.2 also offers a refreshed user interface, plus two new games as bonus features! But we can all agree that being able to adjust temperatures on the go is by far its most vital contribution – especially from a safety point of view.
Not only is the temperature adjustable with this knob, but other climate settings such as fan speed and heated seats can be adjusted too when you simply tap the corresponding icons in Mach-E’s 15.5-inch display below.
Mike Levine, Communications Manager for Ford North America, recently posted a video in response to another tweet announcing their updated version. While he doesn’t explicitly show how users can adjust the temperature or other features through the physical control knob, his demonstration does confirm that it is possible to toggle what the knob controls.

Although it’s not quite perfect yet, the addition of physical controls to a Mach-E vehicle is undeniably beneficial. This ensures that drivers don’t need to rely solely on their muscle memory and can instead spend more time paying attention to what’s happening on the road around them. These physical controls are definitely an improvement worth having.
Ford has recently revised their home screen to provide users with an easier experience, as well as updating the layout and icons of its status bar. Further, it added in-vehicle appointment scheduling for software updates. Of course, that’s not all Ford did – they created two brand new games specifically suited for cars: Bridge Battle is a competitive bridge-building game while Parking Lot requires puzzle-solving skills familiar from popular Apple and Android phone apps.
