India is a hub for electric vehicle startups, with the majority of them producing lightweight to mid-size scooters and motorcycles. Already some amazing models have hit the Indian market, including Ola Electric S1’s scooter and Ultraviolette F77’s naked bike – now Oben plans on taking their innovative Rorr electric naked bike straight into the heart of India.
Oben is proud to announce that it has reached its goal of $4 million in pre-series funding, and already secured 17,000 bookings for its upcoming Rorr electric motorcycle. This exciting new naked bike will be available on the Indian market come Q1 2023 with a competitive price tag of Rs 99,999 (roughly USD 1,228). Don’t miss out on your chance to own this cool ride.
Ever since the Oben Rorr electric motorcycle concept made its grand entrance in March 2022, people have been abuzz with anticipation for its launch in nine major cities like Jaipur, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Pune.
According to an article in The Times Of India, Oben Founder and CEO Madhumita Agrawal declared that the company plans on exponentially increasing its production as well as extending its distribution network. “These funds will be used to fulfill existing orders, escalate our production capacity, and stretch out our delivery channels.”
The Oben Rorr is an electric bike with a sporty style and an accessible price point, coupled with impressive performance. Instead of a combustion engine, the Rorr includes a 10-kilowatt electric motor that generates 72 Nm or 50 lb-ft of instantaneous torque. This power allows for speeds up to 62 mph and accelerates from 0 to 25 miles per hour in just three seconds–impressive results.
The bike is equipped with three adjustable power modes—Eco, City, and Havoc—allowing you to customize its performance according to your preference. Additionally, it’s powered by a 4.4-kilowatt-hour battery pack that can be fully charged in an impressively short time of two hours via a fast charger; this will supply up to 125 miles on a single charge.
