Rivian is moving on to the next stage of production because the company's output has increased dramatically in the past few months. Additionally, the company is now prepared to launch the R1S electric vehicle this summer.

At this point so far, the EV company had produced only a few SUVs, but they were reserved just for employees.

The first Rivian R1S was delivered in the month of December 2021 to the CEO of the company RJ Scaringe.

Then came numerous other SUVs that were delivered to employees, such as Rivian's vice president for Hardware Engineering, Vidya Rajagopalan who was given the R1S at the end of May.

Automotive News reports that deliveries will be made to more eager reservation holders beginning in either August or September.

LOOKING FOR MORE?
The beginning of deliveries to customers will be a significant achievement for Rivian that has more than 90000 reservations for R1T and the R1T truck and R1S SUV in total.

In 2022 Rivian R1S will be the first to have three-row luxury SUVs that are electric almost entirely to its own, with the one exception: Tesla Model X. Tesla Model X, which is not as off-road capable to Rivian.

The R1S begins at $85,575, whereas the older Model X is priced from $125,940 including shipping. A cheaper dual motor R1S is scheduled to begin production by 2024.

Rivian's robust R1S model is the appearance of a box 7 seats, 15-inches (381 millimeters) of ground clearance when it is at its highest setting.

Additionally the EPA-estimated range of 331 miles (508 kilometers) and the car comes with rapid charging capabilities that could increase the range as much as 140 miles (225 kilometers).
