A racing 7-liter V8 rated at 425 horsepower, the biggest engine it was officially equipped with, is no match for Everrati's plans.

In addition to announcing that work on the electric GT40 was underway, the company did not reveal any technical details, but those have finally been revealed today.

In order to reduce its sprint time to "well under 4 seconds" the GT40 will be given 800 horsepower and 800 Nm (590 pound-feet) of torque, according to its makers.

This powertrain is designed by Everrati "according to automotive OEM development processes and technology accompanied by the latest state-of-the-art electric motors and batteries."

Now one of the key strengths of the GT40 was its extremely low weight of 1 ton (2,200 pounds) or even less in versions with small displacement V8 engines.

Everrati won't overburden the featherweight GT40 with an enormous battery pack so that it can maintain this characteristic.

A 60-kWh battery will be installed, and thanks to the vehicle's 700-volt architecture, it will be capable of very fast charging (although no figures have been given yet).
