Fisker Ocean EV tops 50,000 reservations, new PEAR compact EV details revealed

Fisker (FSR) announced today that it had passed 50,000 reservations for its first vehicle, the Fisker Ocean SUV.


Ocean Sport, a base model that will begin at $37,499 before any government subsidies, will be built in an Austrian factory operated by Magna International


Featuring a single electric motor with 275 horsepower and a 250-mile range, the Ocean Sport is equipped with a front-wheel drive system.


In addition to the Ocean Ultra, Ocean Extreme, and Ocean One trim levels, which feature dual electric motors with 550 horsepower, Fisker claims that the Ocean variants will have a range of 350 miles.


The company also announced that its second vehicle, the PEAR (short for "Personal Electric Automotive Revolution") SUV, crossed 3,200 reservations.


In a statement, CEO Henrik Fisker said, “The impressive number of reservations for the Fisker Ocean proves there is a growing interest in our brand and electric vehicles.”


Fisker has already received 3,200 reservations for its revolutionary mobility device, the PEAR, which is designed for city dwellers.
