Fisker has appointed Alpay Uguz, a long-serving BMW executive, to oversee its global manufacturing efforts.
The startup hopes to start production of its first electric car later in the year.
After nearly a decade of managing the joint venture between BMW Group and China's Brilliance Group, Uguz has joined Fisker as senior Vice President of Global Manufacturing.
He was most recently general manager of BMW's Spartanburg SUV plant in South Carolina.
Uguz, who will be reporting directly to Fisker CEO Henrik Fisker starting July 14, 2022, will take on his new role.

His job will be difficult as he will need to manage an intercontinental effort by Fisker to achieve the production target for up to 1,000,000 vehicles per year by 2027.
Fisker announced the appointment in a press release.
It stated that Alpay would be focusing on lean manufacturing and new techniques to reduce parts, starting with the initial development phase.
The Fisker Ocean, the company’s first EV is due to go into production at Magna Steyr, Austria, contract manufacturer, in November 2022.
