Ford stated that an issue with contactors of the high voltage battery overheating can result in power loss and/or the condition of no-start.

As Ford kept to sell the cars but temporarily stopped the delivery of Mustang Mach-E until a solution was found.

We contacted Ford to clarify the situation, as numerous media outlets continued to claim that the stop-sales were not happening, but it was not the case.

Ford has also confirmed to us that there are no ongoing investigation in the hands of NHTSA and that 488,924 Mustang Mach-E crossovers in the US were affected.

At the time, there was speculation that the fix would not arrive until the end of Q3 2022.

On June 29th, 2022 Mach-E Forum announced that the Mach-E Mustang battery contactor Recall Fix (22S41) began to be available to dealers a little ahead of time.

Going onto Mach-E Forum's Mach-E Forum website revealed that the official dealer announcement was available for review.

The site also stated that the update to software will be available to dealers starting this week (as of June 28th 2022).

Ford Mustang Mach E owners who do not need to go to a dealer may opt to hold off until they receive the over-the-air update that should be available in the latter part of July or in August.
