Mercedes-Benz EQXX Exceeds First Range Record, Goes 747 Miles / 1,202 Km

It was announced in April that the Mercedes EQXX could travel more than 1,000 km (620 miles) on a single charge, but now they have gone even further, and by quite a bit.

Formerly, it was driven from Stuttgart, Germany to Cassis, France, covering exactly 1,008 km (626 miles) over two days, taking 14 hours and 30 minutes.

As a result of the new record, the distance from Stuttgart to Silverstone in the United Kingdom is now 1,202 km (747 miles).

The increase was due to an increased efficiency of 8.3 kWh/100 km (7.48 miles/kWh), up from 8.7 kWh/100 km (7.14 miles/kWh).

It is interesting to note that the last part of the distance was actually walked around the Silverstone track.

In the EQXX, Dutch Formula E driver Nyck de Vries completed eleven laps on the famed circuit with the vehicle's last charge.
