Electric vehicle enthusiasts are expecting a lot of Ariya, the Nissan Ariya, the Japanese automaker's very first electric vehicle since the introduction in 2017 of its second generation Leaf in the year 2017.

The compact electric SUV was initially scheduled to be launched in the middle of 2021 however, repeated delays due to shortages of chips and other supply problems caused a hiccup in Nissan's plans.

Thankfully delays seem to be coming to an end, as deliveries of the compact electric SUV are now underway with Japan in May in the month of May, with Europe to follow later in the summer.

US customers will need to wait until the end of fall 2022 to receive the Ariya and only if they're one of the first reserve holders.

Nissan USA stopped taking reservations for 2023 Ariya because Nissan USA has made a decision to limit requests to the amount that can be promptly delivered.
