SsangYong Torres Electric 4x4 Coming To Europe In 2023
SsangYong, a South Korean 4x4 specialist, recently announced the Torres, a BEV that the company will launch in Europe in 2023.
As the company's second smallest and largest vehicle, the U100 will fill a space between the Korando and Rexton.
We therefore expect it to be about the same size as today's Skoda Enyaq, although being a SsangYong model, we expect it to have a more off-road focus than the Czech model.
Similar to Land Rover, SsangYong prides itself on the fact that all models have been designed to work well off-road, although they aren't as well equipped as Land Rover's models.
Only the Toyota bZ4X and Subaru Solterra are worthy off-road rivals. Although its design has been revealed,
we aren't sure whether the fully-electric version will have the usual changes associated with EVs or if the vehicle shown in the press materials is the electric model.
Even though the Jeep-like grille appears to be completely closed, underneath is still an open intake. This point is unclear in the press release,
but it may share the smaller Korando's 188 horsepower electric powertrain and battery that grant it around 200 miles (322 kilometers) of range.
